The Royal Albert Hall is the kind of venue that amplifies emotions creating an atmosphere like no other. Arriving onstage, A-ha seemed to pause for a moment, wanting to take it all in.

Much time had passed since the last London concert resulting in an audience of anxious fans expecting the band to make up for lost time. A-ha were keen to make this a special night. Starting with Minor Earth, Major Sky, they moved through a selection of songs, which spanned their entire career. The setlist, constructed mainly of songs from the latest two albums showed their music had matured in many ways. To the delight of the fans, young and old, A-ha injected some classics into the setlist such as ‘Hunting High & Low’ and ‘Take on Me’.

The amazing voice of Annile Decker is a fantastic addition to the songs both in the studio and live. Magnes emerged from behind the keyboards many times playing the guitar along side Pal, while Morten performed very well, his voice in fine form, yet lacked the interaction with the audience needed by the front man.

Encouraged back onstage for the encore, A-ha must have known that they achieved a performance as impressive as the theatre which surrounded them. With the audience on their feet, A-ha finished with the explosive ‘Sun Always Shines On TV’. Emotions had reached a whole new level making this concert a very memorable event.
